In a standard scenario, as with most competing hosting services, enabling SSL security on your site involves the purchase and annual renewal of an SSL certificate from a security certificate authority (minimum $100 USD/year). Although LFC Hosting does support this practice, we also offer free unlimited use of our own SSL certificate, allowing you to enable security on your website at no additional cost. Our clients have found this to be a perfectly satisfactory alternative to purchasing a private SSL certificate.

Inherent SSL security means that you can securely load any of your web pages that you would normally load through your domain name (or otherwise), simply by changing the URL that your pages are accessed through. This is also true for all of your scripts (order forms, shopping cart software, etc.). With most competing services, web pages and scripts must be placed in a separate area in order to be secure; this provides no added security and requires additional effort and knowledge to enable security on your site. With LFC Hosting, all web pages that you upload to our server inherently have the ability to be loaded securely, allowing you to access a single copy of your website or a page of your site with or without security according to its application or your visitors' preference (security is not always necessary and does slow web surfing).
